Yvette Herrell AGAIN Votes Against Combating Mass Shootings

No thanks to Herrell, House passes legislation to help improve active shooter responses

Yesterday, the House passed the Active Shooter Alert Act, a commonsense bill that would send out AMBER-style alerts when a gunman opens fire.

Yvette Herrell disgracefully voted against this legislation that will save lives and keep families safe by warning people to avoid dangerous areas and give law enforcement tools to effectively communicate with the community.

This isn’t the first time Herrell voted against broadly popular commonsense gun reform in the wake of mass shootings terrorizing communities.

  • Herrell voted against the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which is now the most comprehensive gun violence prevention law in 30 years.

  • Herrell voted against the Protecting Our Kids Act, which would do everything the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act does and crack down on gun trafficking, raise the age to purchase a semi-automatic weapon from 18 to 21, promote the safe storage of firearms, among other commonsense reforms.

  • Herrell voted against the Federal Extreme Risk Protection Order Act, which would keep guns out of the hands of individuals who pose a danger to themselves or the community.

DCCC spokesperson Maddy Mundy:
“Yvette Herrell must look her constituents in the eye and explain why she repeatedly votes against commonsense solutions to keep families safe from gun violence. There’s no defense for Herrell’s cowardice.”
