Yvette Herrell OK With Climate Change as Her District Faces Historic, Devastating Wildfires

In yet another tragic and unsettling decision, the Supreme Court stripped the Environmental Protection Agency of nearly all its authority to lead the fight against climate change today.

Yvette Herrell tweeted her enthusiasm for the ruling, decrying the EPA’s work to protect us from the spread of toxic pollutants as an “insane mission creep of regulating normal atmospheric gasses threaten[ing] the livelihood and prosperity of countless Americans.”

Herrell’s remarks come as the largest wildfire in New Mexico’s history continues to ravage and displace thousands as a result of the continuing and devastating impact of climate change.

DCCC Spokesperson Helen Kalla
“Yvette Herrell has once again shown her lack of concern for her own community. Climate change is undeniably impacting New Mexicans, and Herrell’s absurd rejection of science will have consequences for her at the ballot box in November.”
