Yvette Herrell Shares Blame for the Overturn of Roe v. Wade

In the wake of the Supreme Court decision overturning 50 years of precedent, Yvette Herrell must defend her dangerous complicity in overturnig Roe and answer for her party’s plan for a nationwide abortion ban.

  • Every single House Republican, including Yvette Herrell, voted against protecting access to an abortion and protecting a woman’s right to make her own decisions.

  • Herrell joined 125 other House Republicans  in signing an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe; she even stated abortion should reside on the “ash heap of history.”

  • Herrell is a co-sponsor of the Life at Conception Act, the federal personhood bill that would ban all abortions and certain types of birth control such as IUDs.

Make no mistake: Yvette Herrell is on the wrong side of history. Polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe shows: by a two-to-one margin, Americans oppose the overturn of Roe; 80% of people believe abortion should be decided between a woman and her doctor; and nearly two-thirds of people oppose the GOP’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

Yvette Herrell will be held accountable for her role in dismantling reproductive rights and her party’s contined plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

DCCC spokesperson Maddy Mundy:
“Yvette Herrell bears responsibility for the devastating decision overturning Roe. Herrell must explain her record of attacking women’s personal freedoms and answer whether she supports her party leaders’ plan to impose a draconian nationwide abortion ban.”
