Zach Nunn Called Out For Prioritizing DC Politicians Over Iowans

Bleeding Heartland: “It has been rare for even one of the Iowans to vote differently from top Republicans in the chamber”

Vulnerable freshman Rep. Zach Nunn is getting attention for consistently bending to his party’s extreme leadership in his first term in Congress.

According to Bleeding Heartland, Nunn has “generally aligned with the preferences of GOP caucus leaders.” In fact, it’s “rare for even one of the Iowans to vote differently from top Republicans in the chamber…”

Take a look at how Nunn has put the interests of politicians and his own political party over Iowans:

  • In the Iowa state legislature, he voted for “the most restrictive abortion ban in the nation.”

  • He voted for Speaker Mike Johnson, an anti-abortion extremist who led efforts to overturn the 2020 election and put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block.

  • He’s a disaster for Iowa seniors; the Republican Study Committee, which Nunn is a part of, proposed a budget gutting Social Security and Medicare.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Zach Nunn always puts his party first and Iowans are taking notice. Voters will reject his extremism next November.”
