Zach Nunn voted today for extremist Jim Jordan for speaker in the chaotic, ongoing GOP leadership fight.
Nunn had every opportunity to embrace a bipartisan governing coalition, but chose to enable his far-right colleagues instead.
Thanks to Nunn, Speaker candidate Jim Jordan has now been given the greenlight to push an extreme, dangerous agenda that:
- Defunds federal law enforcement.
- Passes a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions.
- Repeals investments that are creating good-paying jobs and reinvigorating American manufacturing.
It’s no surprise Nunn voted for Jordan – he supports the same agenda of restricting abortion access and threatening access to seniors’ hard-earned Social Security and Medicare. And while Nunn continues to ignore the Farm Bill that expired 17 days ago, it turns out his new choice for speaker has left Iowa farmers behind and voted against every single Farm Bill during his time in Congress.
