Zach Nunn has hardly said a word about the Farm Bill since he let it expire 16 days ago, much less done anything to pass a new one. Instead, Nunn is sending a performative tweet about National Farmer’s Day while he’s attending fundraisers and helping promote Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ annual tailgate.
Unfortunately for Nunn, a tweet won’t help the more than 84,900 farms in Iowa or the 11,500 dairy jobs in his district that are at risk of missing out on critical monthly payments.
Iowa families will also pay the price – failure to pass a new Farm Bill could cost U.S. taxpayers nearly $20 billion dollars and more than double the price of milk at grocery stores.
As he and House Republicans begin another week of chaos and dysfunction, Nunn is cementing their place as the least productive Congress in modern history.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Zach Nunn can tweet all he wants, but it won’t cover up his complete failure to fight for a new Farm Bill and deliver for Iowa farmers and families.”
