Yesterday, Zach Nunn and House Republicans passed twobills that take away women’s constitutional freedoms and attempt to deny them access to essential reproductive health care.
These measures would use federal funds to spread misinformation and prevent vulnerable communities from seeking essential health care. The first of these was even endorsed by the extreme, anti-choice National Right to Life Committee, an organization that advocated for a national abortion ban.
This is just the latest step in Nunn’s crusade to ban abortion nationwide. While in the Iowa state legislature, Nunn voted for “the most restrictive abortion ban in the nation” and voted for a constitutional amendment that would eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa – similar to a measure that the GOP-led legislature is pushing to include on the ballot this November.
