| Today, Zach Nunn voted *again* to shield Donald Trump from Congressional oversight on his sweeping, reckless tariffs that are raising costs for Iowans.
The pivotal vote comes as a new report from the Tax Foundation found Trump’s tariffs cost the average American household $1,000 last year. The cost is expected to rise in 2026 to $1,300 if existing tariffs that House Republicans voted on today stay in place.
This isn’t the first time Nunn voted to rubber stamp Trump’s sweeping tariffs. In September of 2025, Nunn voted to protect price-hiking tariffs, after doing the same thing in March of 2025. Today’s vote would have shielded oversight until the Summer of 2026.
REMINDER: Nunn said that “here in Iowa, we have a situation where the Trump trade tariffs are winning.”
DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Zach Nunn votes once again to raise costs on hardworking families and undercut Iowa farmers. Nunn pledged to lower the cost of living on the campaign trail but has done the exact opposite. Promises made, promises broken.” |
