Zach Nunn’s Health Care Record: Higher Costs, Closed Clinics, Repealing the ACA

Reminder of Nunn’s toxic health care record:

• Nunn said he “won’t support” cuts to Medicaid – then turned around and voted for the largest Medicaid cuts in history.
• Nunn said it was a “myth” that rural hospitals are at risk of closing their doors thanks to his Medicaid cuts. Now, the MercyOne clinic in Ottumwa closed, the Pella clinic reduced its services, and MercyOne has laid off workers in Des Moines.
• Nunn failed to extend the ACA tax credits. He said that the ACA tax credits “[have] been driving up the health-care costs for everybody” and agreed with a TV host who said he had “no problem letting those [credits] expire.”
• Nunn wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act. He said he wants the ACA “gone,” is “not in favor of the ACA going forward” and “has a bill that will immediately end it.”
