📺 “The System is Not Working for Working People”: Cait Conley Vows to Root Out Corruption, Slams Mike Lawler for Fighting for Special Interests

Army combat veteran Cait Conley dedicated her life to fighting for this country. Now, she’s ready to take that mission to Congress and give Hudson Valley families the independent fighter they deserve.

Cait joined Spectrum News’ Inside City Hall to discuss her fight to make Washington work for everyday New Yorkers, calling out career political operative Mike Lawler for finding “every way possible to profit off of democracy while [she] was defending it.”

“My whole life has been about keeping our country safe, keeping our communities safe, and putting country over any party or person — just trying to do the right thing right? For the right reasons. And for me, this fight to win back this seat to help get the Hudson Valley and America back on a better path, it’s that same story of service”

“We’re watching families struggle that are doing everything right. They’re working full-time jobs and that’s still not enough to put food on the table, a roof over their heads, afford quality health care, or keep the lights on. That’s not their fault. The system’s not working for working people. We have to fix that.”

“Voters want a person, not a political party, somebody that they can trust is going to look out for them and their family and not just give political platitudes.”

“For the last 20 years, Mike Lawler was a political operative, a political consultant, a utility lobbyist, and now a politician. He has found every way possible to profit off of democracy while I was defending it. And right now families across the district feel like the country is failing them.”

“This is about winning people over and giving them hope again that you can get people in Washington not fighting for special interests and corporate interests or their own political ambition like Mike Lawler does.”

“My life story has been about how I have fought for them and how if I have the privilege of representing them in Congress, I’ll continue to do that every day, to lower costs, to root out the corruption that’s ruining our system and give them a shot at the American dream.”
