| New race ratings from non-partisan outlet National Journal’s House Power Rankings list David Valadao as one of the most vulnerable Republican incumbents in the entire country, underscoring the growing pressure he faces in CA-22.
National Journal: “The newly configured map makes the southern Central Valley and eastern Bakersfield seat…more favorable to Democrats.”
Democrats are on offense to hold Valadao accountable for ripping away health care from over 68,000 people – over two-thirds of his district and the most of any House Republican, after repeatedly promising not to. He has left rural hospitals vulnerable, voted to gut food assistance for more than 60,000 households, and rubber stamped cost-hiking tariffs hurting Valley farmers.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: The last time Valadao sided with Washington Republicans to jeopardize health care, he lost his seat. Even Republican strategists agree he’s in “deep trouble” this cycle.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“David Valadao is uniquely vulnerable after he went back on his word to the Valley, proving he’s willing to sell out his district to fall in line with Washington Republicans even when it means ripping away health care, cutting food assistance, and driving up costs for Valley families and farmers. Voters know this, and are ready to hold him accountable again.” |
