Cook Political Report: “polling shows it’s not a race [McGuire] can take for granted”
Cook Political Report just shifted Virginia’s 5th Congressional District in Democrats’ direction in just the latest sign that Virginia voters are ready to replace corrupt Republican Congressman John McGuire with a real fighter like Tom Perriello.

Cook writes in part:

“Democrats have a significant spending advantage right now; Perriello has spent over half a million on ads, per AdImpact, and a liberal outside group called Our Virginia has spent another $900,000 on attack ads against McGuire.” 

“…right now, polling shows it’s not a race he can take for granted.”

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“John McGuire has done nothing but unleash higher costs and make life more expensive for Virginians. From his health care crisis to his war in Iran, Virginians know McGuire is to blame for rising costs across the board. Voters will elect Tom Perriello because they know he has the backbone to stand up to special interests and put their community first.”
