Inside Elections, Cook Political Report, and Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball have all moved the race toward Democrats in past 2 weeks
Nonpartisan race rater Inside Elections just shifted New York’s 21st District in Democrats’ direction, the third major race rater in two weeks to move this seat to the left.
With three independent forecasters reaching the same conclusion in the span of just two weeks, the message is clear: NY-21 is firmly in play and alarm bells should be ringing for Anthony Constantino.
In part, Inside Elections writes:
Rising gas prices have put the squeeze on the sprawling district’s farmers, and a trade war with Canada isn’t helpful in a district that does more than $1 billion in trade with its neighbor to the north.
Dairy farmer Blake Gendebien is an earnest and well-funded Democratic nominee who […] may get a perfect storm with a favorable political environment and flawed opponent in Anthony Constantino.
The brash and wealthy CEO of Sticker Mule has made a number of enemies within the GOP establishment over the past two years.
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi: “Things keep going from bad to worse for Anthony Constantino. The more North Country families learn about his cost-raising agenda of health care cuts, tariffs, and a reckless war overseas, the more turned off they get. The wind is at dairy farmer Blake Gendebien’s back and he’s in position to flip this seat in November.”
