🚨NEW DATA: Mike Carey Is To Blame for 120,000 Ohioans Dropping Their Health Insurance

Carey refused to extend ACA tax credits before they expired, causing devastating price hikes

More than 120,000 fewer Ohioans signed up for Affordable Care Act coverage this year after Mike Carey and his fellow Ohio Republicans refused to extend crucial tax credits that lower premiums before they expired, new federal data shows.

When Carey refused to stand up for OH-15 families at the end of last year, he effectively forced his constituents to either pay double their previous insurance premiums or go without coverage.

Carey’s ACA flip-flop came months after he voted for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history, which are expected to kick over 438,000 Ohioans off their health care and cost the state $33 billion over the next decade.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Carey is doing what he does best – lying to his constituents for political points while working families suffer. Carey didn’t care about skyrocketing health care costs when he let the ACA tax credits expire in December, and he doesn’t care now. Ohio voters see right through Carey’s lies and will hold him accountable in November.”
