| Today, the Cook Political Report announced that it is shifting its prediction for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District towards Democrats, building on growing momentum and setting the stage for a competitive election in 2026.
Cook Political Report noted an ongoing FBI investigation against Ogles “over allegations of campaign finance fraud” and highlighted Ogles facing “a number of other negative headlines over exaggerated biographical claims.”
REMINDER: Last month, Inside Elections also shifted their rating for TN-05 towards Democrats citing Ogles’ numerous vulnerabilities. Ogles’ anemic fundraising also points to voters and donors souring on Ogles’ unpopular record – Ogles’ campaign has less than $60,000 cash-on-hand with over $70,000 in debt. In Q3 of 2025, Ogle raised less than $40,000 from individuals.
