New DCCC Poll: Rosen Holds Lead Over Roberson

Poll Released As NV Democratic Registration Surges

Democrat Jacky Rosen leads Republican Michael Roberson by in a general election matchup, according to a new poll conducted by the DCCC. The poll was released after the Nevada Secretary of State announced Democratic registration nearly quadrupled Republican registration in March.

Despite his status as Majority Leader in the State Senate, establishment politician Michael Roberson is known by only 14% of voters. Community leader and political newcomer Jacky Rosen is known by 10% of voters, but has consolidated support among Democrats and leads with Independents.

“Establishment politician Michael Roberson faces an uphill battle in November – that is if he can make it out of his competitive primary,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC.

A DCCC polling memo is available here.

Nevada’s open 3rd Congressional District is considered one of the most competitive in the nation.  The district runs along the southern tip of the state and includes parts of Las Vegas and Henderson. The district voted for President Obama in 2008 and 2012.
