The warning signs are flashing for David Valadao as new polling shows Randy Villegas with a 4 point lead in the first general election head-to-head matchup of California’s 22nd Congressional District.
The poll adds to Villegas’ growing momentum, coming just days after race raters shifted CA-22 in Democrats’ direction and Villegas outraised Valadao in Q2 – powered entirely by grassroots supporters.
Valadao is 6 points underwater with CA-22 voters, and Trump’s favorability is down 15 points as Central Valley families sour on Republicans’ reckless agenda of broken promises.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Central Valley voters are tired of David Valadao putting corporate interests and his D.C. party bosses first. Randy Villegas has proven he will be a fighter for working people to lower costs, protect the Valley’s health care, and take on those same interests ripping Valley families off. Momentum is on his side, the Central Valley is ready to make their voices heard and flip CA-22 blue in November.”
