Santos files for 2024 campaign on last day of FEC ordered deadline
Despite being ostracized by his own delegation, engaging in public fights with his colleagues, losing all support from local Republican leadership, dodging his own constituents, and a majority of New Yorkers wanting him to resign, alleged criminal and serial liar George Santos just filed a statement of candidacy for 2024.
Due to Santos’ numerous campaign finance violations, the FEC ordered Santos to declare whether or not he would be a candidate in 2024 by March 14.
Santos’ decision to file for reelection in 2024 amid numerous local, state, federal, and international investigations into his criminal behavior underscores just how little he cares about the damage he’s done and the voters whose trust he violated.
The move also proves once again that Republicans have little to no control over their most extreme members heading into 2024.
REMINDER: Kevin McCarthy has said George Santos will be removed from office if the House Ethics Committee finds that he broke the law.
DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“New Yorkers have made it incredibly clear they have no interest in seeing George Santos serve in Congress much longer.”
