The Republican Study Committee – which represents nearly 75% of the House Republican Conference – doubled down on calls to “end abortion” nationwide in their newly released agenda.
While Republican leadership has already promised to pass a nationwide abortion ban, the RSC’s agenda explicitly states, “we support efforts to end abortion, which ends the lives of hundreds of thousands of children every year and to support mothers facing crisis pregnancies so that abortion becomes not only illegal but unthinkable.”
DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“There is zero doubt that Republicans will move to pass a nationwide abortion ban – they tell voters that is their plan week after week. We’ve already seen the devastating effects of Republicans’ war on women following the overturning of Roe. Now more than 75% of the House Republican Conference are putting in writing that they want to make those horror stories a reality for women in every state.” |
