Today, Anthony Constantino will join Donald Trump at a rally in Syracuse — his latest campaign stop outside the district he wants to represent. Just this week, Constantino has been to Colonie, Albany, and yes…
Canada.
While Constantino spends his time anywhere but New York’s 21st District, North Country families are paying the price for the agenda he’s cheering on. U.S. farm debt just hit a record $605 billion, driven by the trade war with Canada, fertilizer costs, and higher fuel prices from the war in Iran. That’s a gut punch for the more than 12,000 farmers working 1.5 million acres in NY-21, a district that does more than $1 billion in trade with its northern neighbor.
Constantino’s response has been to pledge total loyalty to the war and tariffs jacking up costs. This week when asked about Donald Trump calling $6 diesel “a small price to pay,” Constantino called it “another hoax.” Asked about the Iran war, he said “sometimes you’ve got to make an investment.”
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“While North Country farmers get crushed under record debt and pay more than six dollars a gallon for diesel, Anthony Constantino is spending Friday night in Syracuse cheering on the trade war that’s crushing them. Constantino has made it clear he’ll be a rubber stamp for tariffs that jack up costs, not a voice for the families he wants to represent. Dairy farmer Blake Gendebien knows the struggles of the North Country because he lives them, and that’s exactly why the momentum in this race is on his side.”
THE MOMENTUM IS ON BLAKE GENDEBIEN’S SIDE IN NY-21:
- A new independent Siena poll released this morning shows Gendebien leading Constantino 46-42 among likely voters in a district Trump won by over 20 points.
- Gendebien raised over $2 million in the third quarter, with more than 84,000 donors now backing his campaign.
- The DCCC added Gendebien to its coveted Red to Blue program this week, recognizing him as a top-tier candidate with a clear path to flip this seat.
- All three nonpartisan race raters have all shifted NY-21 toward Democrats in the past month.
