As women across the country endure the unimaginable, brutal consequences of Republican’s war on women, Anthony D’Esposito and House Republicans are doubling down on their anti-choice agenda in the early days of serving in the majority.
Earlier this week, in one of his very first votes in Congress, D’Esposito voted against consideration of the Women’s Health Protection Act which would codify the reproductive freedoms Roe v. Wade guaranteed before the Supreme Court ripped them away.
REMINDER: Anthony D’Esposito attacked New York’s state law to protect the right to an abortion even after Roe v. Wade was overturned, accepted the endorsement of a group that supported outlawing abortion even in the cases of rape or incest, and couldn’t even keep track of his own lies regarding his support for an abortion ban.
DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“When it was politically useful, D’Esposito downplayed House Republicans’ commitment to banning abortion nationwide and suggested he would be reasonable in protecting women’s freedoms. Now that D’Esposito is in Congress after a tough election, he is showing voters his true cards: D’Esposito is an anti-choice extremist who supports Republicans’ war on women.”
