Today, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced an investment of approximately $275K supporting Archie Parnell in the special election for South Carolina’s 5th Congressional district. The DCCC has already invested in state parties to hire full-time, field organizing staff in the district, and is now investing in mail, African American radio, targeted robocalls, digital advertising, and voter turnout – including a focus on faith outreach on the final two Sundays ahead of the election.
“This investment will help turn out – and provide key lessons on – crucial voters for South Carolina’s Fifth Congressional District and the 2018 midterms more broadly. We’re proud to make this investment in organizing staff, African-American radio, mail, digital, and other targeted voter outreach in the final weeks of this campaign, and support a candidate like Archie Parnell who will stand up and fight for the smart, responsible kind of leadership this community needs,” said DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter.
The DCCC’s investment in mail will focus on turnout within the African American community and comes in addition to the three field organizers who have been on the ground in the closing weeks of the election working to help turn out voters in the African American community.
