DCCC Calls On NRCC To Return $220,000 In Contributions From Corrupt Congressman Duncan Hunter

Hunter Has Been Accused Of Using $250,000 In Campaign Funds For Personal Expenses And Filing False Campaign Reports

Following Congressman Duncan Hunter’s announcement that he will plead guilty to federal charges of misusing campaign funds, the DCCC called on the NRCC to return its nearly $220,000 in contributions from the admittedly guilty member of Congress.

In addition to the $220,000 Hunter has donated to the NRCC, he and his leadership PAC have also donated thousands to Republican candidates and vulnerable members of Congress including Steve Chabot, Tom McClintock, Don Bacon, Jamie Herrera Butler, and former Congressman David Young –  money that could cover a lot of “cabin rabbit transport fees”.

DCCC Spokesperson Robyn Patterson released the following statement:

“We know House Republicans are strapped for cash. But they’ve hit a new low by pocketing dollars from a Congressman who just pled guilty to federal corruption charges. If Minority Leader McCarthy and his campaign-arm choose to keep Hunter’s checks, Hunter won’t be the only Washington Republican misusing campaign funds.”
