DCCC Goes Spanglish with New Online Voter Registration Campaign Targeting Latinxs

Today, the DCCC announced a five-figure Spanglish online voter registration campaign in California and Florida. This comes just days after the DCCC announced an unprecedented radio ad in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District to register more Hispanics and Latinxs to vote.

The four-week long voter registration campaign targets unregistered Latinxs in California’s 10th, 45th, 48th and Florida’s 26th Congressional Districts. In particular, the ads in FL-26 target solely Puerto Ricans who have recently moved to Florida after the horrific devastation caused by Hurricane María. The ads are already running on Facebook, Google Display, and Google Search.

If we aren’t part the solution, we’re part of the problem. Por eso hay que votar this November. Sólo toma 2 minutos to register para votar en línea: myvotemyvoice.org

As part of its strategic decision to invest earlier than any other cycle, the DCCC conducted multiple Hispanic focus groups all across the country to effectively mobilize and energize Latinx voters – particularly voters who may not always participate in the midterms. These digital ads are just some of the research-driven, message-tested products born out of those focus groups. This cycle alone, the DCCC has allocated more than $25 million to a comprehensive mobilization program dedicated to turning out voters of color, millennials, and women in targeted districts.

“Unprecedented investments in our digital operations allow the DCCC to mobilize more voters than ever before, which in some cases means helping people become voters for the first time. These digital ads, part of a holistic voter engagement campaign, are just two examples of our efforts to engage voters of color, specifically Latinxs,” said DCCC Digital Press Secretary Sebastian Silva. “From ripping away affordable health care from millions to allowing the Administration to tear apart families, House Republicans have launched nothing but attacks on the Latino community, and we are reaching potential voters to remind them that their voice helps change Washington.”
