DCCC Releases New TV Ad in CA-13: “ Matters”

The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for CA-13, “Matters,” highlighting John Duarte’s controversial past taking advantage of local lands and small farmers. The ad specifically calls out Duarte for a $1.1 million federal fine levied against him for illegally polluting federally-protected wetlands. Then, Duarte knowingly sold defective trees to family farmers and refused to refund the farmers’ money. Meanwhile, he has been funneling nearly half a million dollars to his own campaign.

Working families in the Central Valley know what it means to work hard for opportunity. Yet at every turn, John Duarte has taken advantage of the land and his neighbors to enrich himself. Voters in the 13th District deserve better than a shameless grifter who would defraud his constituents for his own benefit.

The ad – the second to run in CA-13 from the DCCC IE – is airing in Fresno beginning today and is part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.
