In response to new reporting that a Republican-aligned super PAC has spent more than $300,000 to attack State Senator Joe Baldacci in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District Democratic primary, DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi issued the following statement:
“Washington Republicans are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to attack Joe Baldacci because they’re afraid to face him in November. They know what we know: extremist Paul LePage doesn’t stand a chance against a bipartisan hometown leader who has spent his life fighting for working families in the 2nd District. This desperate ploy will backfire, and we will beat LePage in November.”
BACKGROUND:
Real Change PAC was incorporated with the FEC just two and a half weeks ago. Its address is a Nebraska P.O. Box and their Gmail address does not work.
The mail firm used by Real Change PAC is registered to the same Wyoming address as the one used by Lead Left — another dark money PAC directly linked to Speaker Mike Johnson’s Congressional Leadership Fund.
