Today, House Democrats once again took action to lower costs by passing the Lower Food & Fuel Costs Act, which will:
-
Lower costs at grocery stores by lowering costs for farmers through material needs like fertilizer.
-
Boost meat and poultry competition to drive down prices.
-
Encourage and empower farmers to increase production of biofuels so Americans can have more choices when they go to the gas pump. Enabling the sale of E15 year-round will help diversify options and bring down fuel costs.
-
Establish a task force to examine our supply chain in order to improve it.
This bill is just the latest piece of legislation that House Democrats passed in an effort to drive down costs and improve our supply chains for American consumers. 199 Republicans voted against it.
“House Republicans continue to prove they want voters to pay high prices so they can have desperate talking points,” said DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia.
