Do Vulnerable House Republicans Want a Nationwide Abortion Ban?

With the overturning of Roe v. Wade looming, Republicans must answer for their extremism

Over the weekend, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell confirmed what we already knew: if Republicans win a majority they are willing to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

While anti-choice extremists Tom Emmer and Kevin McCarthy avoid defending their party’s dangerous and unpopular record, the NRCC has already endorsed the crusade against women’s freedoms and safe, legal abortion in an attempt to fundraise off the leaked SCOTUS draft opinion planning to overturn Roe.

Silence is not an option – Every Republican running for Congress, including Emmer and McCarthy, must respond to their party’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

  • What does House GOP leadership have to say to the women living in fear right now, worried that they will lose their 50 years of constitutionally guaranteed freedom and protections?

  • Do they support a proposed nationwide ban?

  • Do they support exceptions in cases of rape, incest or harm to the woman?

DCCC spokesperson Helen Kalla:
“Every single vulnerable House Republican must answer whether they support their party leaders’ plan to impose a draconian nationwide abortion ban.”
