Eight Months Later, New Yorkers Are Paying the Price for the Mike Lawler-Backed War in Iran

Lawler voted SIX times to back the war

Today marks eight months since Donald Trump and Mike Lawler pulled New Yorkers into a reckless war of choice in Iran with no end in sight.

Despite families paying $4.37/gal to fill up the tank and watching prices soar on groceries and everyday goods, Lawler continues to claim rising costs from the war are “absolutely worth it,” arguing that it was a “righteous decision.”

Americans’ confidence in the economy is “in a tailspin,” with consumer confidence at a lower point than during the Great Recession.

The Lawler-backed war in Iran has cost Hudson Valley families over $400 more on average per household.

REMINDER: Trump said the war in Iran would be over in a matter of weeks, but after eight months, $47 billion in military spending, and more than $100 billion in excess consumer spending on fuel alone, the war is no closer to ending than when it started.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler broke his promise to New Yorkers to lower costs, rubber-stamping Trump’s reckless war of choice in Iran and raising prices everywhere from the gas station to the grocery store. Hudson Valley families are sick of this endless war, and Lawler’s broken promises are going to cost him his job.”
