FYI: Will Hurd doesn’t want you to ask about immigration

Congressman Hurd will tell you that he’s an against-the-grain politician. But take one look at his record on immigration and it’s clear that’s just empty rhetoric to cover up the truth: he’s in lockstep with Washington Republicans working against fixing our broken immigration system.

Take DACA for example:

Hurd voted to end protections against deportations for DREAMers.
Hurd voted against allowing military service by DREAMers.
Hurd signed an anti-DACA immigration brief.

And when Univision asked Hurd about whether DREAMers without a criminal record should be deported, Will Hurd conveniently forgot his anti-immigrant voting record saying, “we’re still operating under that law, so they shouldn’t be impacted.”

It should come as no surprise that Will Hurd was silent when the first protected DREAMer was deported under President Trump.

“Will Hurd is yet another example of a classic Washington politician who says one thing and votes the other way,” said Cole Leiter, DCCC spokesperson. “But in the case of Will Hurd, it’s not just that he’s being deceptive. He’s actually voting to hurt the hard working families he claims to represent. It’s time Hurd own his whole record.”
