KEY VOTE ALERT: Erik Paulsen Votes Against Waiting for Nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office to Score the Republican Health Care Bill

Today, Representative Erik Paulsen voted against waiting for the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office to tell Congress and the American people how much the reckless Republican health care plan will cost, how it will affect the deficit, and how many people will lose health insurance. This is yet another Republican move to rush the repeal of the Affordable Care Act without a credible replacement.

Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) offered a motion to postpone the House Committee on Ways & Means hearing until the Congressional Budget Office has had a chance to review this legislation. Representative Paulsen voted against the motion.

DCCC spokesperson Tyler Law released the following statement:

“Congressman Paulsen recklessly voted to put his party before his constituents and go full steam ahead on this bill without even knowing how much it will cost, how it will explode the deficit, and how many Americans will lose their health insurance. Paulsen should slow down and consider the consequences of enacting a partisan plan that will raise premiums for seniors, tear insurance away from millions more, and cut taxes for health insurance CEOs.”
