KEY VOTE ALERT: Vulnerable House Republicans Vote to Kill DREAM Act Vote

Today, House Republicans voted to move forward with a rule that allows for a vote on a hardline, partisan immigration bill. Voting for this rule effectively kills the discharge petition that would have allowed for an up or down vote on the DREAM Act. Instead, vulnerable House Republicans sided with Republican party bosses and anti-immigrant hardliners.

“This vote kills the discharge petition to bring the DREAM Act to the floor, and every House Republican who touted signing the discharge petition, but voted ‘yes’ on this, is a fraud,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law. “There is nothing moderate or centrist about lying to your constituents, selling out to DC party bosses, and turning your back on DREAMers.”
