Matthew Seely Caught Lying to Mid-Michigan Voters

Facing mountains of debt and zero campaign enthusiasm, Grosse Pointe Shores resident Matthew Seely – one of two carpetbaggers trying to buy a seat in Michigan’s Eighth Congressional District – is now outwardly lying to mid-Michigan voters ahead of next week’s primary.

In paid advertising, Seely says he has the “support of the MI Farm Bureau” and “MI Corn Growers,” when both organizations actually have endorsed Congressman Dan Kildee. In fact, Kildee is one of only two congressional Democrats endorsed by both the Friends of Corn PAC and Michigan Farm Bureau AgriPAC, because they know that Kildee has always stood with Michigan’s growers.

“Matt Seely, an out-of-touch carpetbagger with no ties to the district, is now openly lying to mid-Michigan voters as he desperately tries to prop up his failing campaign,” said DCCC Spokesperson Helen Kalla. “Dan Kildee is the only candidate in this race who has been endorsed by both the Michigan Farm Bureau and Michigan Corn Growers because of his long track record standing with Michigan farmers. Matt Seely can’t be trusted if he’s misleading Michigan families, who will see right through his bald-faced lies.”
