A new report in New York Playbook highlights just how dysfunctional and disorganized Mazi Pilip’s campaign really is.
As part of Pilip’s apparent basement campaign strategy to not communicate with voters, volunteers for her campaign were given a script that asked the people of Nassau and Queens to vote for her “amazing friend” and fraudster George Santos – just weeks before the special election.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“We don’t blame Mazi Pilip’s GOP party bosses for the confusion: both Pilip and Santos share a knack for peddling extreme positions and not being forthright with voters.”
When volunteers for Mazi Melesa Pilip’s congressional campaign logged into phonebank last week, they were given a script — asking people to vote for George Santos.
“Hi! My name is ____ and I am volunteering with George Santos for Congress,” the script read. Another prompt asks if knowing Santos is a “small business owner and animal advocate” would change how the voter feels about him.
The script seemed to be a leftover from the 2022 race, when the now-expelled Santos was the Republican nominee.
