New DCCC Poll: Bonoff Leads Paulsen By Two Points

A new DCCC-commissioned poll finds Terri Bonoff ahead of Erik Paulsen by two points (40%-38%) in Minnesota’s 3rd District. This is a remarkable achievement for Bonoff, who only announced in April of this year, and is a demonstration of just how toxic Donald Trump is for down-ballot Republicans – regardless of their feeble attempts to distance themselves.

After only a week of DCCC ads highlighting Paulsen’s support for Trump, Bonoff moves ahead of previous public polling that had her and Paulsen tied after positive descriptions of each candidate. And Donald Trump continues to be as toxic as ever, trailing Hillary Clinton by double digits and looked upon unfavorably by more than 60% of voters.

Bonoff’s support is also growing as more voters become familiar with her: notably, she holds double-digit leads among women (10 points) and Independents (13 points). Most impressive, Bonoff enjoys a 4 point lead in Hennepin County, which comprises 82% of the district.

“With 54 days to go until Election Day, it’s clear that voters in Minnesota’s 3rd District are rejecting Erik Paulsen and Donald Trump’s identical anti-choice, anti-LGBT, pro-gun agenda,” said Sacha Haworth of the DCCC.
