President Trump Adopts NRCC Position on Foreign Interference and Hacked Materials

Bustos: “President Trump and the NRCC’s brazen embrace of hacked and stolen materials open up our country to more frequent and damaging cyber-attacks”

President Trump’s shocking position, that he would gladly accept campaign materials from hostile foreign governments, is the exact same position the NRCC has reaffirmed time and again.

DCCC Chair Chairwoman Cheri Bustos released the following statement:

“This is an issue of national security, and there is no question that President Trump and the NRCC’s brazen embrace of hacked and stolen materials opens up our country to more frequent and damaging cyber-attacks. We don’t have time to play games. NRCC Chairman Emmer should join me today in signing the pledge the DCCC made to refuse hacked or stolen materials. He has my number and he knows where to reach me; there is no excuse for silence while our democracy is under attack.”

In case you forgot…

The NRCC used campaign material stolen by Russians in the 2016 campaign and refused to apologize or change course after widespread criticism of their unprecedented acceptance of foreign election interference.

The NRCC refused to join the DCCC in its 2018 campaign cycle pledge refusing to use hacked, or stolen campaign material.

The NRCC refused to join the DCCC in its 2020 campaign cycle pledge refusing to use hacked, or stolen campaign material.
