Begich Said The House Natural Resources Committee Was “Full Of Folks Like Chairman Westerman, Who Would Be Fantastic Mentors.” HOST: “As you look to potential future colleagues in the U.S. House, who would you look to for mentorship and who would you like to build coalitions or relationships with?” BEGICH: “That’s a great question. You know, I think the House Resources Committee is a great place to start. These are people that are interested, dedicating this portion of their career politically to ensuring that Alaska and America generally has the ability to develop our God-given resources, whether that be minerals, whether that be oil and gas, whether that be coal. And we have the ability to develop those resources. I think that committee is full of folks like Chairman Westerman, who would be fantastic mentors, stepping in as a freshman in the House.” [YouTube, Anchorage Daily News, 32:23-33:06, 8/28/24] (VIDEO)
