Carson Said He Was Opposed To Abortion And Believed Life Began At Conception. “Retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson today maintained his opposition to abortion, saying he believes life begins at conception, but he declined to say on ‘This Week’ whether he feels there should be any exceptions, such as when a woman is impregnated during a rape.” [ABC News, 8/16/15]

Carson Said He Wouldn’t Allow Abortions In Cases Of Rape Or Incest. “In an interview with Chuck Todd on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ Carson laid out his extreme anti-abortion positions which include banning safe and legal abortion, restricting women from making their own health care decisions, and not allowing any exceptions for rape and incest -- he would not say whether he would support an exception for the life and health of the mother.” [Planned Parenthood Action, 11/25/15]

Carson Compared Abortion To Slavery, And Said He Wanted Roe V. Wade Overturned. “Ben Carson today compared abortion to slavery and said that he ultimately wants to see Roe vs. Wade overturned, despite the fact that the majority of Americans believe abortion should be safe and legal.
