Tano Tijerina Made Public Comments Alluding To A Congressional Campaign Announcement On December 1, 2025

June 2025: Tijerina Told Laredo-Based Outlet KGNS He Could Potentially Announce His Run For Congress After December 1, 2025

Tijerina Acknowledged He Could “Potentially” Announce His Run For Office After December 1, 2025. “INTERVIEWER: So you could, if you were to announce officially, you would do it sometime after December 1 of this year? TANO: potentially. INTERVIEWER: Potentially that's when you could say, and that would not, that would not require you to leave your county. TANO: That is correct. See, that is correct. And so that is the reason why we did an exploratory committee. I've been, I've been working on this, you know, for a good while now, and it's something that I've been really contemplating on doing. And I just think it's disheartening, and it's very disappointing.” [KGNS, 9:38, 6/29/25] (VIDEO)

September 2025: Tijerina Told Houston-Based Radio Host Kenny Webster He Could “Publicly Come Out” And Announce His Run On December 1, 2025

Tijerina: “December 1st, I Will Be Able To Publicly Come Out And Without The Exploratory [Committee].” Tano: “As I go around district 28, I have an exploratory committee by the way, and the reason why I have an exploratory committee because there’s a resign to run clause in the state of Texas, which I wish there wasn’t one, but here in Texas we still have it. So, until December 1st, it’s the way it works, by the law it’s written it’s a year and one month, so December 1st I will be able to publicly come out and without the exploratory.” [Kenny Webster KPRC 950 AM, 22:28, 9/5/25] (VIDEO)

Tijerina Told KGNS “Everything Is Possible, I’m Real To Myself” When Asked If There Was A Possibility He Would Decide Not To Run After His Exploratory Phase

Asked If It Was Possible He Would Choose Not To Run After Exploring A Run For Congress, Tijerina Said “Everything Is Possible, You Know, But I’m Real To Myself.” INTERVIEWER: “Judge, as you explore the possibilities, is it about Tano Tijerina or is it about Webb County? In other words, can you see yourself as part of this exploratory committee finding in a situation where you say, you know what? It is best that I don’t do this for the county. Is that a possibility? Or are we just buying time so that you can announce?” TIJERINA: “Everything is possible, you know, but I’m real to myself. That guy that I look at in the mirror every single day, the same person that I am. Look, the first day that I got elected as county judge, I had a lot of people in the media come up to me and they asked me one question: ‘what do you want to say to the people that voted for you?’ and I told them this, and you can look it up, I said I want to thank them, but more importantly the ones who didn’t vote for me, those are the ones that I want to be able to win them over, show them who I am. It’s no different if I run for this position or not. Just because I’m Republican now, or Democrat, in all reality, I’m the same guy that hasn’t changed anything, and so I’m going to do everything I can.” [KGNS, 13:05, 6/29/25] (VIDEO)
