Republicans Are Bankrupting the American People

Americans are resorting to installment plans to pay for everyday needs

The New York Times reports that the U.S. national debt has “shot past 100 percent of gross domestic product,” meaning the nation’s debt is larger than its economy thanks to Republicans. This translates into higher mortgage rates and higher costs at a time when Americans can barely make ends meet.

Currently, about one in four Americans are paying for online purchases in installments because they can’t afford the cost outright. Thirty-seven percent of lower-income Americans also report using installment plans either frequently or occasionally.

REMINDER: Just last week, Donald Trump said, “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation,” while Mike Johnson attempted to diminish the tone-deaf and cruel statement.

DCCC Spokesperson Bridget Gonzalez:
“Too many Americans are barely getting by every month thanks to Republicans’ terrible fiscal management and leadership. They’ve admitted they don’t care about Americans’ finances and that will get them voted out in November.”
