🚨 NEW POLL: Jessica Killin Running Ahead of Jeff Crank in the Battle for CO-05

New polling shows Army veteran Jessica Killin leading vulnerable Republican Jeff Crank by 2 points, 46-44% — a “major victory” as Killin builds momentum to be the first Democrat to represent Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District.

Despite Trump winning the district by 9 points in 2024, “Democrats are confident they can contest the district” as hardworking Coloradans sour on Crank and House Republicans’ agenda of broken promises.

The poll is just the latest proof point that momentum is on Killin’s side as she expands her lead in the polls, grows her fundraising edge over Crank, and sees three non-partisan race raters shifting CO-05 in her direction. And while Jeff Crank continues to leave Coloradans behind, Killin is taking to the airwaves to hold him accountable.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“The writing is on the wall for Jeff Crank. Colorado families know they deserve better than Crank’s record of broken promises, and they’re ready for change. This November, Coloradans will send Jessica Killin to Congress — a fourth generation Coloradan that’s ready to fight for El Paso County.”

Colorado Sun: Jessica Killin is essentially tied with Jeff Crank in Colorado Springs’ congressional district, poll shows

  • Democrat Jessica Killin is essentially tied with Republican U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District with about two weeks left before Election Day, according to a recent poll conducted on behalf of Killin’s campaign.
  • Killin had 46% of the vote to Crank’s 44% in a two-way survey from Oct. 14-18.
  • But the fact that the race is even close, let alone the possibility that Killin is leading, is itself a major victory for Democrats, who have never won in the 5th District, which was created in the 1970s and is centered on Colorado Springs. Crank beat his Democratic opponent by 14 percentage points in 2024 and President Donald Trump won El Paso County by about 10 points that year.
  • Killin fared even better when poll participants were asked who they would choose among all four candidates on the ballot in the 5th District, including Christopher Mitchell of the American Constitution Party and Libertarian Mark Elworth Jr.
  • In that four-way race, the poll showed Killin with 43% of the vote, Crank with 38%, Mitchell with 4% and Elworth at 3%.
  • But Killin has maintained her competitiveness, and potentially picked up a small lead, despite an onslaught of ads in the 5th District supporting Crank, who is finishing up his first term in Washington.

Semafor: ‘Through the looking glass’

  • Democrats are releasing polling showing Colorado’s Jessica Killin holding a slim 46-44 lead within the margin of error over incumbent Republican Rep. Jeff Crank in the state’s 5th congressional district, with 10% undecided.
  • Democrats are confident they can contest the district, where President Trump’s favorability is underwater, despite him winning the district by nine points in 2024.
