| Independent race rater Cook Political Report today shifted their rating for Texas’ 35th District in Johnny Garcia’s favor to a toss-up, the latest alarm bell for political nepo baby Carlos De La Cruz’s tanking campaign.
According to the analysis, “the underlying dynamics in Texas look more promising for Democrats this cycle — particularly in a district that’s 52% Hispanic.” Years of broken promises and skyrocketing prices — which De La Cruz has backed all the way — have created a “particularly rough political environment for Republicans in Texas.” As De La Cruz continues to latch himself onto Republicans’ sinking ship, the race is Garcia’s for the taking.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“With prices up and life in South Texas this much harder, Carlos De La Cruz chose the wrong moment to try to ride his congresswoman sister’s floundering coattails. While De La Cruz is hanging with the political elite, Johnny Garcia is building grassroots support with real South Texans, which is why they’re going to send him to Congress in November.” |
