David Schweikert Remains Beholden to MAGA Extremism as President Biden Shares Progress and Vision in State of the Union

Tonight, President Biden’s State of the Union address sent a clear message to Arizonans: Democrats seek to build upon their historic results and economic progress, and tackle the challenges everyday, working Americans face. This resounding message stands in clear contrast to David Schweikert, who is beholden to his party’s extreme agenda, and the MAGA extremists who control Republican leadership.

In the 117th Congress, Schweikert voted against the legislation that: capped insulin at $35 per month for Medicare recipients, is bringing manufacturing back to the United States, made overdue reforms to protect Americans from gun violence, protected individuals’ rights to marry who they love, continues to fix roads and bridges, has helped create 12 million jobs since 2020, and more.

Now, rather than work with Democrats to find solutions that will help everyday families, David Schweikert has given his full support to MAGA extremists and an agenda that seeks to gut Social Security and Medicare, ban abortion nationwide, use the full faith and credit of the United States as a bargaining chip, protect wealthy tax cheats, extend Republicans’ tax giveaways for the wealthy, and prioritize MAGA-led political investigations.
