| While Hudson Valley families are getting crushed at the gas pump thanks to Donald Trump’s reckless war of choice, Mike Lawler went on MS NOW this week to tell voters that the war is — wait for it — “going well.”
Asked point-blank by MSNOW whether the Trump administration had a real strategy, Lawler couldn’t defend it — so he pivoted to attacking Barack Obama. When the reporter tried to steer the conversation back to the actual war Lawler voted to greenlight, he lost it: “I know, I know, I know, you just want to spew out the talking points for the left here.”

Lawler then doubled down, calling Trump’s $25 billion war — the one 64% of Americans oppose, that’s spiking gas prices across the Hudson Valley, and that his own constituents booed him over at a town hall last week — “a just war.”
Asked what she would want to hear from Mike Lawler, one NY-17 constituent said “end this war today.” Meanwhile, Lawler recently said gas price increases from the war were “absolutely worth it” and called Trump’s war a “righteous decision.”
DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Mike Lawler’s own constituents begged him to find some courage and stand up for the Hudson Valley, and his answer was to lash out and continue cheerleading Trump’s reckless war. Telling NY-17 that a war driving up their daily bills is ‘going well’ isn’t just out of touch, it’s insulting, and voters are going to remember it.”
