Yesterday, Rob Mercuri’s chief ally Speaker Mike Johnson and 80% of House Republicans introduced an extreme MAGA budget that would balloon the deficit and reward the ultra-wealthy while raising costs for millions of working-class Americans.
Chief among the disastrous policies is a massive handout to billionaires and big corporations — extending Trump’s tax scam that benefits the ultra-rich with little to no benefit for small businesses or the middle-class. Additionally, the budget would cut Social Security, privatize Medicare, leave millions of Americans without quality health care coverage, and continue the relentless attacks on women’s freedoms by supporting a nationwide abortion ban.
Rob Mercuri has already proven himself a rubber-stamp for MAGA policies with his own anti-worker agenda and his war on women’s reproductive freedoms. This is the extreme Republican conference Mercuri is looking to join — the caucus that prioritizes their wealthy donors over critical programs for everyday Americans.
Pennsylvanians know that if elected, this disastrous mess is exactly the type of budget Mercuri would be all too happy to vote for.
